They are killing the troops

The Bush administration is killing the troops.

"A secret Pentagon study has found that at least 80 percent of the marines who have been killed in Iraq from wounds to their upper body could have survived if they had extra body armor. That armor has been available since 2003 but until recently the Pentagon has largely declined to supply it to troops despite calls from the field for additional protection, according to military officials.

Thirty-one of the deadly wounds struck the chest or back so close to the plates that simply enlarging the existing shields "would have had the potential to alter the fatal outcome," according to the study, which was obtained by The New York Times. "

Ok - so where is the outcry? We have known that the troops weren't being supplied with proper armor for three years now. THREE YEARS. What has been done about it in all that time? Absolutely ZERO. So how come no mainstream media pundit is willing to stand up and say that the Republicans' claims of "supporting the troops" are CRAP?

It's also the sort of stuff that makes me want to get out my tinfoil hat. I mean, why wouldn't Bush want to properly armor the soldiers? Is the man really such a shit that he would nickle-and-dime the troops just to give a little MORE money to Halliburton? Or is it possible that the administration doesn't actually WANT to win, and WANTS the war to be an endless treadmill, so that Cheney's cronies can keep raking in the cash?

I can think of NO explanation or justification for not providing the troops with proper armor.

And some reporter who hasn't been whipped into submission should ask point-blank: "Mr. President, why AREN'T YOU?"

What can you expect from a trio of morons who never saw action themselves - Bush, "five deferments" Cheney and Rumsfeld. I get so angry when I think of Rumsfeld's statement that "you go to war with the army you have." Unfortunately, we went with the Secretary of Defense we had. And far too many men, women and children have died as a result. This administration has far too much blood on its hands.
