C-Span

A reader drew my attention to this:

C-SPAN Asks Sites to Pull Colbert

The cable network asked two internet video providers, YouTube and Ifilm, to pull clips of Stephen Colbert's April 29 performance at the White House Correspondents Association dinner from their websites.

C-SPAN said it contacted the companies because the copyright material was posted online without its permission.

I don't know if this is the usual case of the lapdog media doing trying to protect the Clown Prince from criticism. If you go to C-Span's site, the Colbert video is quite prominent, not buried.

But I think that stuff from C-span must appear on YouTube all the time. Have they ever ordered that a video be taken down before?

My understanding was that CSPAN took issue with "youtube" and others for airing the Colbert section of the evening without including Bush and his double doing their Abbott and Costello skit. I guess the President doesnt mind getting bashed as long as his scene isnt left on the cutting floor. Either way, if you havent seen the Colbert speech, you really should. He has king kong size cajones and I have mad respect for him. It was a tough crowd, but Colbert lit Bush's lamp. Good stuff.

I saw it, and thought it was great. Steve Colbert is my new hero. I do not believe that he said that stuff right to the man's monkey face. But you just reminded me of an article I wanted to draw attention to and I'll post it now.
