GOP seeks cuts to ease cost of cleanup

Under pressure from conservatives, House and Senate Republican leaders are preparing a package of spending cuts to Medicaid and other social programs to defray some of the costs from the cleanup of Hurricane Katrina.

Roll back some of the tax hikes to the rich? Are you KIDDING? We'd MUCH rather take the money out of the pockets of the old and the sick.
