Election Day

Tomorrow is Election Day in an off year, and you may not have any IMPORTANT contests going on where you are.

Well, actually, they're ALL important, so go vote.

The right-wingers have done a bang-up job getting political power by concentrating on exactly those unimportant elections. City Councilmen become Mayors. Mayors become Governors. State Assemblymen become Senators. Senators turn into Presidents.

At the risk of boring you:

"For want of a nail, the shoe was lost;
For want of a shoe, the horse was lost;
For want of a horse, the rider was lost;
For want of a rider, the message was lost;
For want of the message, the battle was lost;
For want of a battle, the war was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail."
