NEW YORK -- The Port Authority said Thursday it has security concerns over a plan for a Dubai-based firm to take over operations at a Port Newark container terminal and it will file a lawsuit to terminate its lease at the port.

this smacks of Karl Rove politics....Bush is taking this insane position so that Republicans can come out in violent opposition to this decision, which bush will eventually back down on, and look good in NOVEMBER. Bush has nothing to lose and is too stupid to see what Rove and the Republicans are doing....They are setting up for the November election.....danger danger....
The possibiity had occurred to me, but I don't think it makes a difference. The Democrats certainly have nothing to lose by standing against the insane thing, and if the Republicans are forced to distance themselves from Bush, so much the better. If it is a Rovian game (and I really don't think it is - Bush's ego is too great and he is totally selfish - he's not the sort to damage his own reputation for the sake of his party), bring it on.
