That's right, George, they did that.
President Bush was traveling Wednesday to Nova Scotia to give the Canadians a belated "thank you" for helping Americans in their hour of need — a gesture aimed at warming frosty ties between the neighboring nations.
"Immediately, Canadians opened their homes and their hearts," Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin said in toasting Bush at a dinner in Ottawa Tuesday night. "Three days later, on September the 14th, 100,000 Canadians spontaneously gathered on Parliament Hill in what was and is the largest vigil ever seen in our capital."
And after they did THAT, and helped us in our hour of need, you smeared them
You smeared them having the nerve to tell the truth about Iraq.
You smeared them for being right.
You smeared the Canadian Prime Minister for making a decision in keeping with the wishes of 80% of the citizens.
The whole wide world disagreed with you neocons.
And instead of wondering if maybe the whole wide world was right and you were wrong -you preferred to disassociate the United States from the whole wide world so you could hold on to your delusions.
And now - do you actually think that FINALLY saying "thank you" THREE YEARS after you SHOULD have said it will make the Canadians forget that?
I think they are waiting for "I'm Sorry" - not "Thank you."
The one phrase you can never bring yourself to say.
