Liar, Liar.

Rumsfeld, when asked about the lack of armor on vehicles, said that the Army was working as fast as they could.

"It's a matter of production and capability of doing it," he said.

That was a lie.

"Armor Holdings Inc., the sole supplier of protective plates for the Humvee military vehicles used in Iraq, said it could increase output by as much as 22 percent per month with no investment and is awaiting an order from the Army."

"We're prepared to build 50 to 100 vehicles more per month," Robert Mecredy, president of the company's aerospace and defense group said in the interview. "I've told the customer that and I stand ready to do that."
They can make a bunch more and they've been able to for a long time - and the Army hasn't ASKED for any.

"If they ordered more trucks, we'd build more trucks. We're not close to capacity," says Army Materiel spokesman Lee Woodward.
What a pack of liars.
