The press has shown a continuous habit of trying to make news instead of reporting news. And they LOVE scandal more than anything else on the planet. Especially if they can indulge their adolescent side. The latest example: Vince Neil from Motley Crue said "fuck" on the Tonight Show. Fine enough - but here's the thing. From the AP story, which is one of their TOP stories:

NBC hasn't received any calls about the F-word that Motley Crue rocker Vince Neil dropped during the live New Year's Eve broadcast of "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno."

"Happy f---ing New Year, Tommy!" Neil said to bandmate Tommy Lee shortly after midnight Friday.

NBC hasn't received any calls about it; nobody complained; nobody batted an eye.

So let's MAKE it a big story.

Sheesh.
