Church kicks out Democrats

When I first saw this, I thought it was a wild rumor. I'm astonished that it isn't.

A Baptist Church in North Carolina has excommunicated anybody who didn't vote for Bush.

"East Waynesville Baptist asked nine members to leave. Now 40 more have left the church in protest. Former members say Pastor Chan Chandler gave them the ultimatum, saying if they didn't support George Bush, they should resign or repent. The minister declined an interview with News 13. But he did say "the actions were not politically motivated."

Here are several links to the video of the news report, courtesy of Daily Kos. In addition to the obvious revocation of this "church's" tax exempt status, kos also has some suggestions for action.

Do you STILL have any question that these clowns want a theocracy?
